Interview Skills Workshop

Target: Researchers and Consultants involved in candidate interviews.

Cost: UK£395 / €579 / US$765 + 17.5% VAT

Venue: RIBA

Date: October 3, 2008

Description: The key to effective interviewing is to encourage candidates to talk openly and frankly so you can make an accurate evaluation of the match between the candidate's skill-set and experience and your client's requirements. Ensuring that your client is pleased to meet all presented candidates and does not feel than an interview was a waste of time is one of the most effective ways to add value as an executive search consultant. There are many approaches to interviewing and all form part of a set of tools which allow you to gather sufficient evidence to evaluate candidates effectively. The day covers an introduction to compentency-based interviewing and an exercise in critical-incident based interviewing. The benefits of the day include the opportunity to improve your skills in candidate evaluation; practice different questioning techniques in role plays and learn about different approaches to interviewing.

You will learn:

  • - How to match candidates to clients' requirements
  • - Five techniques to improve your interview skills
  • - How better to get the detail behind the CV
  • - The secrets of presenting the right candidates
