GRMSearch Hosts Panel Discussion
GRMSearch hosted a panel discussion at the prestigious China Club in Hong Kong, attended by MD’s, General Counsels and HR Directors from a plethora of industries to look into the issue of employees social media usage and the wider topic of their general behaviour outside the workplace and whether the employer can be held accountable should something go awry.
The largest room in the club was just about big enough to hold all the many guests in attendance.
Hosted by GRM CEO, Rob Green the panel consisted of 3 of the very best employment Lawyers in Hong Kong. Nick Chan, Partner of Squire Patton Boggs, Jennifer Van Dale, Partner of Eversheds and Rowan McKenzie, Partner of Baker & McKenzie were fabulous keynote speakers with truly insightful tips and stories of people’s outrageous social media comments and how they have had a negative effect on the company they work for – and the action that can then be taken.
The upshot in Hong Kong for anyone that employs people is they do have the ability to regulate their employees’ usage on social media and will increasingly move to exercise this, according to insights shared by the panellists.
It was a hugely interactive session, with questions flying in from all sides of the room, this topic is very hot right now and if Rob hadn’t wrapped it up we might have been there all day!!
Rob Green, CEO of GRMSearch, said “We are delighted with the turn out, a full house, in fact we ended up having to turn people away, so we may have to do another soon. The panellists were excellent with fantastic stories and great insights. It was an excellent session and my team who organized it were also on top of their game.”
The Hong Kong panel discussion event was part of a series of exclusive events being hosted by GRMSearch looking at topical industry issues.
