Ex-EY Head Takes Up Non-Executive Chairman Role At BIE Executive
Global recruitment specialist BIE Executive has marked the launch of its new specialist advisory service arm with the appointment of former EY deputy managing partner Richard King as Non-Executive Chairman.
Mr King, who sat on the EY Global Management Group and headed up the firm's UK and Ireland practice, brings with him over 35 years of top-level professional services experience.
BIE CEO Rob Walker said: "Appointing someone of Richard's calibre to the board is a major coup. We wanted to send a clear message to clients that we are serious about making our new advisory offering one of the most compelling in the marketplace.
"Lots of chairmen in our industry are former recruiters, but we wanted to bring a genuinely fresh perspective to the table. We're confident Richard's counsel will be instrumental in the success of our new advisory arm.
"We believe there's an opportunity to provide a joined up service bridging the gap between recruitment and consultancy – one that provides real and workable solutions, as well as a much needed sounding board, whether the clients find themselves at the stages of thinking of embarking on a transformation journey or simply requiring a delivery capability other than professional services."
Former management consultant Fabrice Rodrigue, recently hired to head the new advisory services offering, added: "As our clients become more sophisticated buyers of resources and services as well as being much more attuned to the needs of their business and the resources available to them, they increasingly realise the need to remain in control of, and own, their programmes. They want to do this in a way that is flexible and cost-effective and allows them to retain the knowledge obtained along the journey.
"Until now we have concentrated on providing ad-hoc capability to our clients. While we will continue to do this, we are now wrapping it up with a wider, more consolidated offer covering the whole spectrum, from project initiation and turnaround to overall programme delivery."
Mr Walker commented: "In creating our advisory service, we have recruited to complement our specialist recruitment knowledge with the experience of actually having delivered complex, large scale change projects."
Mr King said: "BIE has already begun to carve out a reputation as a trusted partner, helping clients understand the intricacies and implications of their change programmes in order to resource them effectively.
"The addition of a bespoke advisory practice will take that relationship to the next level, combining consultancy expertise with an international network of contacts and an in-depth understanding of what it takes to build effective teams."
