AIMS International Americas Meeting To Be Held In Chile
The AIMS International Americas regional meeting will be held on March 19-22 at the Ritz hotel in Santiago, Chile.
AIMS Internationals President Daniel Ekberg (Sweden) and Vice President Richard Joly (Canada) will be present in Chile to discuss the options to increase the value of AIMS International for its clients in the region.
One focal point will be the enhancement of cross border client management and synergies between the 27 countries which are served by partners of AIMS International in Northern, Central and Latin America.
Another key topic will be the expansion strategy of AIMS International in the USA. Potential partners will be reviewed against the expectations of the big multinational corporations in Europe.
Embedded into the meeting will be a seminar, which will be held for 120 managers of Chilean and American companies. Three speakers will discuss key talent management in ambiguous contexts.
Rodrigo Jordan will deliver an evaluation about the challenges of talent management in 2014 from a teams´ perspective. He is the author of Leadership: From Theory to Practice (Spanish, Prentice-Hall 2008) and the host of "Leadership in Person," a TV show for Canal 13. In addition, he serves as professor of innovation process and management in the MBA program at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile School of Business. Mr Jordan regularly runs seminars on leadership and the development of high performance teams to a variety of clients throughout Latin America and beyond.
Carlos Osorio, Founding Director of the master in innovation at UAI in Chile, will give a speech about the meaning of innovation in talent management in 2014. Mr Osorio is Professor and Founding Director of the Master on Innovation at Adolfo Ibañez School of Management, board member at the InnovationForum (CHILE), visiting researcher at the Institute for Basque Competitiveness (SPAIN), fellow at the Center for Social Innovation of Un Techo para mi País (A Roof for my Country) and affiliate at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society. He has also been visiting research scientist at MIT Media Lab and research associate at the Information Technologies Group at the Center for International Development at Harvard University. He founded Designing Better Futures, a design and innovation consultancy, and hosted NuevaMente (NewMinds,) the first Chilean TV show on innovation at 13C Channel.
Mr Osorio’s research focuses on innovation and new product development processes, design thinking and architecture of complex systems. His work has been featured in publications such as Harvard Business Review, World Economic Forum and Brookings Institution and has been reported on by media such as CNN en Español, The Economist, Corriere della Sera and Salon.com. He has worked with clients in the information technology, biotech, energy, mining, finance and service sectors in the United States, Europe and Latin America.
Mr Ekberg will discuss talent in a globalizing business world. He is an economist with a military background. He has served in a number of national boards of US and Swedish companies. From 2000 he was general manager for Flextronics Network Services in Mexico. From 2002 to 2009 he was senior vice president and head of Latin America region for Flextronics Network Services (later Relacom). He has leadership experience gained from managing organizations of more than 9.000 employees. He became partner of AIMS International Sweden in 2009 and managing director of the network in 2010.
