Odgers Berndtson Launches Digital Search And Board Consulting Practices
Odgers Berndtson, a global executive search and organizational leadership firm, has announced the formation of a Digital Practice to be headed by Digital Search Consultant Candi Dalipe. The firm has also announced it has partnered with Digital Strategist and Board Member Barry Libert to provide board-level digital strategy learning and consulting services.
In addition to traditional executive search services, the firm will work with boards to better understand the business opportunities that digital presents.
"The impact of digital innovation is clearly not limited to technology companies," said Candi Dalipe, Partner and newly appointed Head of Odgers' U.S. Digital Practice and co-lead of its Digital Board Practice. "Virtually every industry and sector has experienced some level of business disruption due to the tremendous growth in social, cloud, mobile and big data technologies, yet very few companies are prepared to deftly respond to the challenges and opportunities these innovations present to their business models. Essentially what we see are 'old school' managers in a 'new school' paradigm trying to adapt, and the dissonance results in costly missed opportunities for capturing customer and shareholder value and growth.”
Barry Libert, Senior Advisor to Odgers Berndtson, will co-lead the Board Advisory Practice. He has spent the last two decades advising organizations on the impact of social, mobile, cloud and big data on business models, through his firm, OpenMatters, a Boston-based technology investor and strategic advisory firm he founded and of which he currently serves as Chairman.
"Technological innovations have fundamentally disrupted existing business models, strategies, leadership and board expertise,” said Mr Libert. "As the ever-changing digital landscape continues to change, it will take more than a 'token' chief digital officer for companies to maintain their competitive agility. Instead, it requires a full digital-savvy leadership bench with similarly requisite board membership to drive business results in the ‘mobile, cloud and big data first’ world in which all businesses now operate. I am excited to be able to work with Odgers Berndtson to combine our areas of expertise and deliver clients a full suite of search and digital-oriented leadership and board services that will better position clients for long-term success.”
Mr Libert and Ms Dalipe will work closely together and report directly to Steve Potter, Managing Partner of the Odgers Berndtson's U.S. operations. The three recently partnered together on an article titled "It’s the New World Of Digital Everything: Are Your Board Members and Leaders Ready?".
Prior to joining Odgers Berndtson, Ms Dalipe founded her own strategic search firm. She also served as an executive director with Russell Reynolds Associates, where she led the emerging Technology, Media and Entertainment Practice in New York. Before joining Russell Reynolds, Ms Dalipe worked at a boutique search firm and AOL Time Warner.
