Asia-Pacific Managing Partners Discuss Market Conditions And Outlook For Leadership
EMA Partners International’s Managing Partners from the Asia-Pacific region convened to share local market experience, form a view of conditions in the region as a whole and gauge the outlook for leadership in Asia today.
Despite the economic headwinds currently being experienced in global markets, most large markets in Asia, including India, reported robust demand for C-level talent across all sectors. China, now the second most important bell-weather for the global economy, has resumed growth at higher levels than over the last two years. As a result, the search industry is experiencing solid demand for local talent by western companies in the manufacturing and industrial sectors.
K. Sudarshan, Managing Partner for India and Asia-Pacific Regional Chairman, remarked: “In markets like India, we are witnessing a surge in demand for executives and subject matter experts in the areas of natural resources and energy. We have seen an active collaboration between our offices in India and Africa, with an increased movement of executives across these markets.”
Mr Sudarshan added: “Singapore continues to serve as a regional hub for multinational corporations expanding in the ASEAN region. Our Singapore office is conducting several high-impact search assignments in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia. Singapore also reports that while substantial business is being conducted in the life sciences sector, the financial services sector is experiencing minimal growth.”
Partners confirmed that significant opportunities for growth exist throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The retained executive search industry is well placed to assist clients to fulfil their leadership needs with high-performance talent required to successfully navigate the new competitive landscape.
